PIONEER REQUIEM

This piece was done to honor the pioneer women who migrated West, sometimes losing loved ones on the way.  I wanted to show the mother kneeling at the little grave, baby blanket in hand.  The road behind her beckons her onward, to leave the little one behind.

END OF THE RIDE

Time for a nap after a long ride.  Looks like the horse needs some tender care from the vet after all his hard work.
Stamps used:  railing:  Darcies; hat:  Golden Acorn; sleeper:  Third Coast;  all others unknown:  back wall, haystack, boot, vet and horse

Cowboy with copper embellishments

This image is stamped on birch bark, found in a roll in the Christmas section of a craft store, or you can use birch bark found in nature.  Real horse tail hairs are threaded through a copper clip.

Cowboy on faux leather

Thanks to stamper Barb Gibbons for showing me this neat trick.  Heat fun foam and stamp image.  Distress edges and color with pigment ink pads.  Voila! fake leather!

Cowboy with concho embellishment

This image is stamped on birch bark, found in a roll in the Christmas section of a craft store, or you can use birch bark found in nature.  The hairs through the concho are actual horse tail hairs.
